Pictures!!

Here he is!! Our internet connection has been being really slow so this is the best we can do right now for pictures...there are of course a hundred more I wanted to post but until my computer gets fixed up this is it! He is such a good natured little guy and he smiles ALL the time, it's hard to catch pictures of it but I'll see if I can post a few later.

These first 3 pics are all in the same day, he just pooped all over his first outfit so we had to change him! It was the BYU-Utah game day so he had to wear his Y hat!

These last 2 pictures were right after he had eaten and I bundled him up tight. He hates having his hands tucked in so you can see in the first one they are down and then in the second one he's pulled them out. We always have to put him in outfits that cover his hands or put little mittens on him because he loves having his hands by his face and sticking his fingers right in his eyes.

More pictures to come later!!!

The moment we saw you we fell in love...

Brockton is here! I'm going to post pictures as soon as I can, but I thought since he just fell asleep I'd better hurry and tell the good news (even though I'd rather be sleeping)! Last Monday, the 17th I had an OB appt and the doc said I was dialated to a 3 and the baby was ready to come so he said he would induce me any time if I wanted to. I had heard a lot of different things about being induced and I wasn't so sure, but as I was sitting on the table I thought my water broke (with the baby so low he was kind of like a cork in a bottle so it wasn't a gush of fluid) so we decided if I didn't go into labor on my own that night then I'd be induced the next morning.
That night I started having really strong contractions that were about 3 minutes apart for about 2 1/2 hours so we went up to the hospital at 3 a.m. and OF COURSE as soon as we walked through the doors and got up to labor and delivery my contractions slowed down. We waited around for about 20 minutes to see if they would keep getting stronger but we were both SO exhausted so we went home to get some sleep.
I woke up at 8 a.m. to call the hospital to see what time I needed to come in to be induced and by that time I was only having like 2 contractions an hour. The nurse told us to come in at noon to get things started. I had been up all night packing, cleaning and getting everything ready for the baby to come so we ate breakfast and finished some last minute things before going up to the hospital. We were both anxious but I felt so at ease with what was about to happen, I just knew that being induced was how it was supposed to go.
It was 2 p.m. by the time I was actually induced because it took them forever to be able to get my IV in. The first nurse poked me twice...ok stabbed me twice and then went and got another nurse to come in and try and that nurse couldn't get it in either so she also stabbed me twice. SO fun. Luke was passed out on the bathroom floor in a cold sweat for about 15 minutes after that, poor guy, he's the one who needed the IV!
The pitocin they put in my IV really got my contractions going and I thought I was really progressing, but at 4 p.m. I was only barely dialated to a 4. My doctor came in to make sure my water was broken shortly after that and after he released some more fluid my contractions got SO strong, I asked for an epidural about 15 minutes later (about 5 p.m.) and the guy was there in a matter of minutes to give it to me, what a blessing because the nurse told me that he was called into a surgery right after that and I would have had to wait at least an hour for my epidural. Both of our families were there by now, my mom and sisters had been there since about 2ish.
The epidural was the worst thing ever, wow. A little traumatic but such a blessing in the long run! Almost 2 hours later (7 p.m.ish) they checked me again and I was only dialted to a 4 1/2...pretty much NO progression. I just knew we were gonna be there all night so I prepared myself for a long night in the hospital. Luke was so sweet and supportive the whole time and was so amazing for how queazy he gets in hospitals. Well my contractions kept getting stronger to the point where I could feel how strong they were even with my epidural. The baby's heart rate wasn't very good so the nurse (best nurse ever Kari) came in to check on me and maybe put me on oxygen and when she went to check if I had dialted more, her eyes got kind of wide and she was like, "I'm trying to find cervix!" She told me I was almost a 10 and she went to go call my dr. No one could believe that I had gone from a 4 1/2 to a 10 in barely over an hour!
A few minutes later during one of my contractions I felt a lot of low pressure and it felt like I could push the baby right out so I told the nurse and she felt to see where the baby's head was, and sure enough, he was coming out!! She ran out of the room to see where in the world my doctor was. Nurses started coming in and prepping the room and Luke and I were both just sitting there wide eyed and nervous as all get out! With each contraction I kept feeling the urge to push but waited until my doctor came. Luke, my mom and Luke's sister Brianne were in the room...they were both trying to console Luke who had his head down on the bed ready to pass out at any given moment.
My dr. finally got there and I started pushing. My mom was trying to convince Luke to come watch so he went over and peeked to see the top of his head and then came back to my side and a few seconds later went back over to keep watching-it must have been pretty amazing for him to be able to watch it! After 7 minutes of pushing, our little angel was out at 8:42 pm! What an amazing experience, there are hardly words to describe what it's like to see your baby for the first time! The whole thing was just so incredible. He was so tiny I couldn't believe it, he only weighed 6 lbs. and was 19 inches long. Luke cut his cord (I know, right!) and after cleaning him they had Luke bring him over to me and I got to hold him. It's amazing how I instantly just fell in love with him, what a precious little guy! Although he's changing a lot from day to day, that first day he looked SO much like my brother Guy, it was unbelievable!
Both of our families came in the room to see him and take pictures and stuff. AnnAlyse said that I didn't stop smiling the whole time, I was seriously on cloud 9...I feel like I still haven't come down. Being a mom is the sweetest thing I've ever experienced and it's so amazing to see what a natural Luke is at being a dad. He's already an expert diaper changer and changes 90% of Brock's diapers. He is so cute with him and so sweet and Brock just LOVES him already! We are loving being parents to the sweetest baby boy ever! I'll post pictures a little later when Brock's sleeping again! :) WE LOVE YOU BROCKTON!!!!!! welcome little prince!!

Booya New Camera!

We finally got a new camera after weeks of searching for "the one" and so I've been testing it out today! It's actually a family Christmas present from Santa, but he let us have it early- for when Brock gets here. :) I got to watch Izzy all day today which meant getting her ready so I decided to take pictures of her masterpiece hair. She holds really still for me now so it's fun to try new stuff in her hair...and the camera did pretty well I think! Pay no attention to the fat lady in the green smock in the background. haha.

Halloweeeen!!

Halloween is seriously my favorite holiday and we had so much fun this year! We carved pumpkins with Luke's family the tuesday before halloween and I am so picky about what we carve, I think if I wasn't so huge and uncomfortable I would have carved both of our pumpkins myself. We decided to make our jack o lanterns replicas of ourselves this year, I was the short fat one and Luke was the tall slender one...and of course "we" are flirting.
And now for Halloween night... Because I love halloween so much I always plan like 6 months in advance what we'll be dressing up as. This year we decided to dress up as a "bun in the oven" and the "baker"...doesn't Brock make a cute bun? I kept joking that I looked more like a robot than an oven but hey I made our costumes myself! Luke was loving his costume and would keep his hat on in the car when we drove somewhere hoping that people would see him. What a geek. The babies were so cute and LOVED answering the door for the trick or treaters. Gabe was a lion and Izzy was a scary witch...not just any witch, a scary witch. I wish I had a video of them making their individual sounds trying to scare the kids. They are so cute! We had soup bowls with Luke's fam and then went over to hangout with my parents for a while and watched a movie with my dad. We love our families, thanks for the fun night!!
Oh yeah, the timer on my oven said, "time left: 3 wks 2 days". Yipee!! This last pic is me with little linc the kingster...I died when I saw his little cow costume that said, "got milk?" He is a chunker and LOVES his milk!! Oh and he can't wait to have a new little cousin to play with!

our little bundle...still bundled.

Yesterday when I was at my mom's she said that everyone's been asking to see pictures of my tummy so she made me pose for a few pictures...with 3 1/2 weeks left I'm really praying that my part of the growing is done and that Brock can do the rest.  Chubby babies are much much cuter than chubby mommies...

Bored at the OB

So the other day at my OB appointment we had to wait for my Dr. for like 40 minutes before we could see him so we sat in the lobby and played pinball on the computer forever. I was the left hitter and Luke was the right side. I think our high score was like a million something points, we were pretty awesome at it. Luke was being so loud though like we were in an arcade or something...he forgot we were at a womens clinic with 15 other cranky pregnant women. It was pretty funny. To quiet him down I got out my camera and we had a mini photo shoot, I'm sure everyone though we were so weird. Luke is the funniest guy I've ever met we have so much fun together...Here are a few of the pics I took of my dashing husband.

It might also help to understand that I was taking these shots one after another and he thought of all these poses all on his own...with tons of people watching. haha he cracks me up.
High School Tag...

I'm sure I'll be made fun of for doing a post about high school, but I was tagged so I HAVE to right? :) lol...here we go.

1) Did you date someone from your school - yeah I dated the same guy all through high school...I dated other people too, but only Spence exclusively.

2) What kind of car did you drive - I learned to drive in a Ford Clubwagon...if you can drive that then you can drive anything! Pretty sure I'm the only person in my family who didn't make a dent in that baby too. I also drove a Nissan Altima, but really mostly rode everywhere with my boyfriend.

3) Did you pass your driver's license test the first time? - yes he gave me a 99 instead of 100 only because he said he's never given out a perfect score before. Honestly I just think he liked me.

4) Were you a party animal? - we had a lot of fun for sure but I don't think I went to a single party where there was alcohol in high school.

5) Were you considered a flirt? - um I don't really know...I had a boyfriend so I was probably more just really good friends with all the guys instead of trying to get a date ya know?

6) Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? - choir all three years...2 choirs my senior year

7) Were you a nerd? - I think a geek means you're ugly and nerd means you're smart...right? who knows. I got my first 4.0 as a senior but I didn't have math, english or science that year. hehe

8) Were you on any varsity teams? - does AP seminary count? lol no I didn't play on any sports teams.

9) Did you ever get suspended or expelled? - no

10) Can you still sing your fight song? - oh bountiful we're proud of you and of your red and grey! we'll fight for you with might for you and cheer you as you play. unlowered may our colors be whatever comes our way, so glory us to victory the mighty red and grey!! ok so I might have made up a few of those words but I think that's pretty close. my mother in law taught it to me after I got married...I don't know how she knows it cause she went to viewmont. pep club or something.

11) Who were your favorite teachers? - eek favorite teachers...I don't think any of my teachers liked me...I think I'd have to say doc brown, doc stone, bro hadley, bro lawson and bro foy. something about science and seminary...hmmm

12) Where did you sit at lunch? - we went out to lunch everyday so it was always different

13) What is your school's full name? - Bountiful High School

14) School mascot and colors - we were the Braves, ya know like indians...red and grey

15) Did you go to homecoming and who with? - I wasn't 16 yet my soph year but jr. year I went with Spencer and sr. year I went with Aaron

16) If you could go back and do it again, would you? - NO! But if I had to go back and do it again I would attend class more often and be a better friend...and kiss fewer boys.

17) What do you remember most about graduation? - mostly that I was SO glad to be done finally!

18) Where did you go on Senior Skip Day - I have no idea what that is...I probably was hanging out with Spencer.

19) Were you in any clubs? - drama club officer, musical theatre...I was a thespian if you will...and I'm sure you will.

20) Have you gained weight since then? - uh yeah i'm preggo! sorry but it's not public info how much though. :) a random lady at the mall told me I was lucky to be having a late fall baby cause I'd have all winter to work off my fat before summer. haha....thank you random lady.

21) Who was your prom date? - your mom. Prom was the day before my 16th birthday my soph year so we didn't go, but of course Spencer took me my jr. year, and he was already graduated my sr. year and didn't want to go to a high school prom so he just took me on a fancy date that night.

22) Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion? - probably, it's fun to see who your friends married and what their kids look like I think. It's also funny to see who has changed and who hasn't at all...

23) Did you have a job while in high school? - I worked for Memories (scrapbook store) for a year and a half and then I was an assistant therapist for a chiropractor my sr. year.

and we're done.
