Summer Vacations '10 Part 1

For our first family vacation of the summer we headed down to St. George with Luke's side of the family and stayed in his aunts condo (Thanks Andra!!). It was HOT down there and we all LOVED it! We spent all our time boating, going to the pool, shopping, lounging, eating....all the great stuff. This is the day before we left...Brock's first ice cream cone all to himself! He loved it! ^^^Helping dad drive the boat! ^^^The fam :) ^^^Mom and Brocko ^^^Brock LOVED the boat and getting in the water...which was too cold for mom to brave. ^^^Dinner at Pancho and Lefty's. Mexican...mmm! ^^^Brock ate a ton, I didn't realize he liked mexican food so much! ^^^ On the way home from boating one of the days. He was doing this the whole trip to keep himself entertained I guess! ^^^More entertainment... ^^^Feelin free and easy ^^^The day after we got home was Luke's birthday, so we had a party at Geese and Lis's (his parents) with both sides of the family over for cake and ice cream! ^^^

Lookin hot in his new shades! woot woot! Happy Birthday hun!! ^^^

Oh yeah, so the day before we left on our trip, Luke's car was involved in a hit and run in the parking lot while Luke was at work. Luckily two witnesses saw who hit his car and wrote down the license plate and the police were able to track down the guy who did it. He denied hitting Luke's car of course, but now everything is all straightened out. Luke's car got all fixed up while we were on vacation and we just took the free rental car down to St. George for the week so it worked out just fine!

21 Weeks!

21 weeks I can't believe it! One of my goals for this pregnancy was to take more pictures of my belly along the way. I think I was a little too vain with my last pregnancy and I hardly have any tummy pics, which I regret now, so I'm letting go of my pride and showing it off. This is me at 20 weeks, halfway there! I'm not sure if my tummy is half full or half empty....?

Other big news...as of today we are finishing our basement to make more room for the baby. We'll have a new tv/toy room down there so we can turn Brock's toy room upstairs into his new bedroom and the baby girl will take over Brock's current bedroom. I'm also excited because the spare bedroom downstairs will be used as my craft/sewing room! Woohoo! Ok that's all for now. :)

My birthday surprise...

Brock
is getting a

Yesterday on my birthday I had my 19 week appt. and we got to finally find out the gender of our baby!! We are so excited that ITS A GIRL!!! It was quite a surprise since we've been thinking it was a boy for so long!

We kept it a secret all day until last night when both sides of the family came over for cake and ice cream. Luke said he had one last present to give me and brought out a gift {which we had bought together earlier in the day}. When I opened it and pulled out a little pink baby outfit everyone was so surprised and cheered! Luke's niece, Izzy {age 4} immediately said, "Hey, I have a lot of clothes that don't fit me anymore that she can wear!" haha what a cutie! Izzy is the only girl cousin on Luke's side so that will be so fun to have another girl in the fam! Hooray for a little sister for Brocko! We are thrilled/anxious/excited/nervous/very surprised to be having a little girl! We can't wait to meet her! Now to come up with girl names.... :)

My little 17 month man...

is growing up so fast! All the cliche's are true about how fast they grow, or "you blink and they're grown". Each new stage of life is even funner than the last, but I still feel melancholy about the fact that he's no longer my little baby boy anymore. He is so much fun to have around though, he is always surprising me with the things he says and does. I'll give an update on 17 month Brock, bullet style. (I stole this from Savannah)

  • He LOVES basketball and wants to "dunkit" as soon as he wakes up every morning...and then all day long. He especially likes to play ball with his dad, even though I swear I'm more fun to play with...dad's a ball hog. :)
  • He is talking up a STORM. He pretty much repeats everything I say now and is even trying to form sentences. {which of course only Luke and I can understand}
  • He knows the number TWO. He won't say "one", and occasionally says "three", but somehow he's got "two" down. Whenever he has two of something he will hold them both up and say "two!"...and he loves having two instead of just one.
  • He LOVES movies. Ever since he was little he has loved watching Disney's Pixar movies, and now he will pretty much watch any Disney movie. Some of his favorites are: Up, Finding Nemo, Bolt, Toy Story 1 & 2, Cars, Princess and the Frog, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, and Signing Time...even though he doesn't really sign, he just likes the kids and the music.
  • He ADORES his grandparents and his aunts and uncles. He loves going to play with Mimi during the day {so does his mom}. He doesn't really remember the names of any of his cousins except for Chelsea, whom he calls "Chejee" and he just about loves her to death. Poor girl. He is obsessed with Guy {but we think it's because he has the easiest name to say. :P} He has lots of people that love him and he loves them right back!
  • He is FUNNY. This kid has so much personality and he makes me laugh all day! One of my favorite things to do with him is to quote a line from one of his movies and see what he says back. The other day I started singing a line from a song from The Princess and the Frog, "Dun Dun Dun Are you ready?" and he said in a high pitch voice "No! not all!"
  • He LOVES books. He always has. He loves being read to, or reading by himself...and by reading I mean looking at the pictures and talking to himself. His new favorite book is "Jubal's Wish" by Don and Audrey Wood. I'm looking for it in a board book for him, so if you see it, let me know!!

I just love this kid to death and could go on forever. He is going to be an awesome big brother, he just loves babies. I babysit a newborn little girl once a week and always brings me her binki or blankets and wants to help hold her. He's a sweetie. I Sure love my buddy!

Brock's theme song- sung to the tune of "macho man":

"Brocko Brocko man, I wanna be a Brocko man!"

Feeding Duckies

Having a picnic at the park and feeding the ducks in the pond seems to be our new favorite family night activity! Brock loves seeing all the "birdies" and LOVES being outside. Last week we walked the farmington trail with Luke's family and had a picnic with the cousins and fed the ducks after. Brock was taking turns eating the bread and sharing it with the ducks. We had a lot of fun, thanks fam!!

Easter

I can never figure out how to upload my pictures in the right order, so these are backwards. If you know how, leave a comment! :) Easter was great this year! We got to celebrate Easter twice cause of General Conference! These pics are of the Easter festivities with the Flinders fam! Mom and Brocko ^^^^^

Its a....

I was waiting to post about the good news until now because I for sure thought we would know if it was a boy or a girl by now. Two ultrasounds ago it was 90% a boy, this last ultrasound it was 90% a girl. SO WHICH IS IT!?!?! We will just have to wait 4 more weeks to find out I guess! Feel free to make your guesses {and suggest a few names while you're at it!} And yes, we are hoping for a 10-10-10 baby!
